Care home operations + workforce + resident care—on one API.
Who this is for. Care homes, assisted living and residential care operators (and healthcare SaaS teams) who need scheduling, caregiver mobile workflows and resident charts without two databases.
What you get. Evidence of a multi-tenant Laravel platform + React Native staff app: schedules, CPR/training alerts, signed care logs, allergies/diagnosis charts, documents, clock-in/out and a 7:07 demo—positioned as operations software, not clinical advice.

The operational challenge isn’t simply scheduling staff. It is ensuring the right caregiver has the right information about the right resident at the right time—while maintaining facility-level access control and an auditable record of care activity. Mobile Caregiver App
Connects to SaaS, Full-Stack, Custom CRM/ERP, Mobile clients and AI & Data Engineering.
Who could use this platform?
Care home & assisted living operators
Facilities, staff, residents, schedules and compliance signals.
Residential care organizations
Centralize charts, signed logs and house documents.
Home-care / distributed caregivers
Adapt scheduling + mobile architecture for field teams.
Healthcare SaaS / vendors
Foundation for vertical care products or legacy modernization.
The care-home operations problem
Care providers often coordinate resident information, staff availability, shift schedules, training/certifications, care documentation, allergies and diagnosis awareness, compliance drills, house notices, documents, payroll-related attendance and manager↔caregiver communication—frequently across spreadsheets and paper while the floor needs mobile access.
Two apps or two APIs would leak facility data and duplicate schedule rules. One Laravel API with web admin and React Native staff clients keeps roster truth and charts company-scoped.
Constraints
Delivery stayed inside the client’s stack, tenancy and media-ownership boundaries. This page describes healthcare operations software—not a clinical claims or certified EMR product.
Business requirements
Multi-facility tenancy; staff scheduling with training and CPR expiry alerts; consumer medical/activity logs; document folders; React Native clock-in and on-site chart updates—all on one Laravel REST API.

Web admin login for facility managers.

KPI tiles for CPR/training expiry, upcoming birthdays, fire-drill compliance and new hires—with monthly staffing and overtime trend charts.
Care home workforce scheduling
Staff → Availability · Certification · Training · Location · Role
→ Scheduling → Shift Assignment → Clock In/Out → Payroll/Attendance
Staff registry, weekly schedules with location filters and temporary slots, hired vs pending counts—roster truth in Laravel; mobile reflects recent activity without a second schedule database.

Compliance-aware workforce management
Certification-aware scheduling is a differentiator: CPR, first aid and medication training with expiry monitoring on staff records and the facility dashboard.
Staff → CPR · First Aid · Medication Training · …
→ Expiry Monitoring → Valid (eligible for shift) | Expired (alert / review)
Alerts support operational follow-up. This is not an automatic claim of regulatory certification (CQC/HIPAA/DSPT)—see Security.
Care workforce analytics
- Scheduled vs worked hours, overtime and staffing trends (dashboard charts in this capture)
- Certification expirations and compliance drill signals
- Future (not claimed shipped): predictive staffing suggestions with human-in-the-loop manager approval—not fully autonomous scheduling
Resident care management
Resident (consumer) charts include guardian contacts, Medicaid/Medicare IDs where captured, diagnosis, allergies, rates and alert/document folders—operational care coordination fields, not a diagnostic engine.
Caregiver → Resident → Care Chart
→ Allergies / Diagnosis / Alerts → Care Activity → Signed Entry → Supervisor Review

Full care chart for bedside and supervisor context.

Web logs desk for supervisors—filters and PDF report export.
Digital shift handover
The mobile app’s Last 24 hours view is a shift-handoff summary—recent daily, medical and activity entries across consumers without opening each chart.
Previous Shift → Daily / Medical / Activity Logs
→ Last 24 Hours → Handover Summary → Incoming Caregiver
Future AI: summarize authorized records for handover subject to human review—not independent clinical advice.
Caregiver mobile app (React Native)
Nine-screen staff client for caregivers on shift, not facility administrators. Facility-specific login, numeric PIN, clock in/out, assigned consumers, signed logs and house alerts—same chart data as the web.
- 1 · Facility login — pick employer (tenant) so tokens stay company-scoped
- 2 · Staff PIN — numeric keypad; fast handoff without shared email passwords
- 3 · Shift home — clock in/out, house message, shortcuts to last 24h / consumers / documents
- 4 · Consumer chart — allergies in red, diagnosis, tabbed logs
- 5–6 · Write & sign — log entry + signature capture for authorship
- 7 · Last 24 hours — aggregated handover summary
- 8 · All consumers — searchable roster when assignments change
- 9 · Alerts — house notices managers publish from web admin

One care platform — web + mobile + API
One API, two experiences. Facility managers on Bootstrap web admin; caregivers on React Native—same Laravel business rules and tenant isolation.

Multi-tenant care home architecture
Platform → Provider A / B / C → Facility → Staff · Residents · Documents
Company-scoped rows · facility-scoped queries · mobile tenant context
- Tenant-scoped queries for locations, consumers, schedules and documents
- Roles: super admin, facility manager, field staff (and read-only admin patterns)
- Document storage paths isolated per company
Healthcare data security architecture
- Tenant isolation and RBAC / least privilege
- Facility-scoped authorization on every API route used by mobile
- Signed care log entries for audit-friendly authorship
- Audit-friendly read-only transaction views for supervisors
- Document isolation; encrypted transport; access revocation and retention as operational concerns
Technical architecture does not by itself establish regulatory compliance. HIPAA, NHS/DSPT, CQC, GDPR and similar regimes depend on deployment, jurisdiction, policies, contracts, DPIAs/data-sharing agreements and operational processes—discuss as architectural considerations, not screenshot-based certification.

Designed for the modern care ecosystem (extension path)
Possible integrations—not claimed as shipped unless separately delivered: GP/EHR, pharmacy, eMAR, payroll/HR, identity, notifications and document systems. Connected medicines and proxy-access workflows in some jurisdictions require authorization, agreements and security controls beyond the app UI.

Medication & eMAR — what is shipped vs future
Implemented in this project
- Medication-related staff training certification tracking
- Allergies and diagnosis on resident charts
- Medical care logs (operational documentation)
Possible extensions (not claimed as shipped)
- Medication schedules, administration records (eMAR), reminders, missed-dose alerts
- Medication reconciliation, pharmacy/GP integration, medication audit trails
Do not infer clinical medication administration from staff training widgets alone.
AI-assisted care operations (potential)
Position as care operations intelligence—not an AI diagnosis platform. Human supervisors remain responsible for operational and clinical decisions.
- Shift / resident timeline summaries from authorized records
- Documentation assistance and incomplete-record flags
- Certification expiry and compliance follow-up prompts
- Staffing suggestion support with manager approval
- Longitudinal operational analytics—not “better clinical results” claims
IoT / connected care — potential integration
Room/Device → Gateway → MQTT/API → Event Pipeline → Care Platform
→ Alert · Dashboard · Care Workflow
Examples (extension only): occupancy, bed sensors, emergency buttons, environmental monitoring, wearables, fall-detection signals—unless separately implemented for a client.
Possible product evolution
- Workforce — AI-assisted scheduling, absence, shift swaps, payroll integration
- Resident care — care plans, appointments, incident management, medication path above
- Communication — SMS/WhatsApp/voice, family portal
- SaaS — deeper multi-tenant productization and metering
Engineering challenges
- Tenant isolation — company, general admin and read-only roles with facility-scoped queries
- Schedule vs mobile — roster truth in Laravel; mobile reflects last-24h logs without stale copies
- Compliance signals — fire drills, training expiry and birthday alerts on the facility dashboard
The solution
Built ILS Admin for facility managers on the web and a React Native staff app for the floor. Managers maintain locations, rosters, certifications and consumer charts in Laravel; caregivers use the same API on phone/tablet to clock in, read allergies and diagnosis at the bedside, write signed log entries and pull house documents—without a second database.
My role
- Solution architecture — multi-tenant model, API boundaries, authorization
- Backend — Laravel REST API, scheduling domain, care records
- Frontend — Bootstrap facility admin and dashboard
- Mobile — React Native caregiver workflows, PIN auth, signed logs
- Product engineering — requirements through production considerations
Technology stack
Production considerations
- Facility-scoped authorization on every API route used by mobile
- Audit-friendly read-only transaction views for supervisors
- Document storage paths isolated per company
- No public UnifiedPBX-hosted client login—operator infrastructure
Outcomes
- Facility web admin and nine-screen React Native staff app share scheduling, charts and signed logs on one API
- Compliance-oriented dashboard tiles for drills, training and staffing trends
- 7:07 demo documents the running system
